Minnesota fires coach Tubby Smith (The Associated Press)

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota fired Tubby Smith on Monday, cutting ties with the veteran coach one day after the Golden Gophers lost to Florida in the NCAA tournament.
