Alabama hires Bill Battle as athletic director (Yahoo! Sports)
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Bill Battle was hired as Alabama's athletic director Friday, coming out of semi-retirement at 71 to return the school that has won the last two national football titles.
