Stanford TE Ertz out, WR Owusu uncertain (AP)

Tight end Zach Ertz will most likely be sidelined for at least two weeks for No. 4 Stanford with a lower right leg injury, leaving one of the team's most productive units shorthanded. The school announced Monday that Ertz is expected to miss Saturday's game at Oregon State and the Nov. 12 matchup against sixth-ranked Oregon that could determine the Pac-12 North champion.

Ex-Alabama, Jets P Gantt dies at 59 (AP)

Former Alabama and New York Jets punter Greg Gantt, who may be best known for having two punts blocked in a 17-16 loss to Auburn in 1972, has died. His sister, Patricia Gant, said Gantt died Wednesday of complications from heart disease and diabetes. He was 59. Gantt led the Southeastern Conference in punting for three seasons from 1971-73 and also kicked long field goals for the Crimson Tide.

St. John's forward Da'Shena Stevens will be sidelined for four to six weeks with a left knee injury she suffered in the offseason.
